The Intern's Story The Intern's Story is an evolving, single-player, first-person adventure game inspired by the works of H.P.Lovecraft. Intern will take you on a dark and terrifying descent into the secrets of a run-down New England sanitorium and the mysterious connection between its staff and its history. Intern is an immersive piece of interactive fiction and a tale of exploration and fear. It is not an action game or a deathmatch mod. The first chapter, originally created for Unreal Tournament several years ago is still available. See the first download link on the right. However, the first chapter has recently received a lavish remake which adds much to the story and visuals. This new version of chapter 1 is available as a single-player Half-Life 2 modification. See the second download box. Chapter 2 of The Intern's Story, also for Half-Life 2 will take you deeper into the strange world and intriguing story. See the third download box. Installation Instructions for Chapter 1 - Unreal Tournament Download and run the UMOD to install the files. You'll need Unreal Tournament V436 GOTY Edition. The readme file contains some useful instructions on getting the most out of The Intern's Story. Start Unreal Tournament and in preferences adjust the game speed down to 50%. This works with some in-game settings to provide a much better illusion of walking and you'll find that moving around the facility is much easier if you've done this. You'll also want to turn off Unreal Tournament's own music. Now close Unreal Tournament, turn down the lights and crank up the volume. To start the game, look in your Unreal Tournaments directory. In the Maps folder you'll find a folder called Asylum. Inside there is the map, Intern. Just double click on it to run the game. Installation Instructions for Chapter 1 - Half-Life 2 You can choose to download either an automated Windows Installer version or a ZIP file for manual install. To use the installer, simply download and run the file. To start the game, just click the new icon on your Start Menu. To use the manual installer, download and open the ZIP then copy the Intern HL2 folder into your Steam/SteamApps/SourceMods folder. To start the game just launch Steam and select from the list.
