In my hunt for inspiration I came across this article in a wiki.
I'm not sure if we have been here before, appols if we have.

The most recent movement-Deconstructivism-employs non-Euclidean geometry to achieve its complex objectives resulting in a chaotic order. Non-parallel walls, superimposed grids and complex 2-D surfaces are some external manifestations of this approach which is exemplified by the works of Peter Eisenman, Zaha Hadid, and Frank Gehry. Topology has been a fascinating influence.

Check out the pics at the bottom of this page.

Oh my god!

"Its spatial grammar of colliding planes also tends to make users disoriented to the point of nausea, and Eisenman has been known to chuckle in lectures about making people vomit."

Surely this can only be the behavior of a culstist of some kind? Shocked

Wurgh.

That's... very strange.

...oohh, itching to make a Rlyeh map now. =)

I'm fairly familiar with Gehry and Hadid, but somehow I've managed to miss paying too much attention to Eisenman.

My god... MY EYES ARE BLEEDING!

Libeskind's Jewish Museum in Berlin is actually quite good
( http://www.kunstgeografie.nl/void.2.htm ) , before he started down the path to celebrity, and believing his own hype
( http://shoeblogs.com/images/libeskind.jpg )
pompous little prick

But I think you're really looking for the work of Lebbeus Woods:
http://www.ludvigsen.hiof.no/webdoc/inet93/lwchairmedian.html
http://www.ap.buffalo.edu/sap/news/lectureimages/spring2004/lebbeusWoods01-undergd%20berlin.jpg
http://www.uturn.org/Arttech/lebbeus1.jpg

He was credited with set designs for Alien 3 and 12 Monkeys, but really was just another paper architect. But with alot more going on behind the eyes than Zaha Hadid, at least.

Those of you familiar with 12 Monkeys, "Roadside Picnic" or Tartovsky's "Stalker" may feel that the picture of the chair in the room is familiar.

Woods explored parasitic structures that invaded more orthogonal buildings like bomb-blasts, and spaces that left uneasy traces of previous activities.

All my own words, nice!
